Germiston foundation serves hot meals to the needy

On Fridays they serve chicken, cold drink, and take-home bread.

The Peer Foundation operates a weekly soup kitchen in Germiston that serves 1 500 to 1 700 meals.

“The number of people using soup kitchens increased now that winter has arrived and unemployment is a factor.

Peer Foundation serves chicken, cold drink, and take-home bread on Fridays to needy people of Germiston.

“We are proud to have not only created five meaningful employment opportunities but also to operate this compassionate soup kitchen that restores dignity to less-fortunate individuals,” said the regional manager, Muhammed Ismail.

“By providing nourishing meals, we eliminate the need for these individuals to rely on begging for sustenance. It enhances their well-being and empowers them to focus on other important responsibilities.”

“Our unwavering dedication to the well-being of the community fosters a profound and impactful transformation,” said Ismail.

“Our meals are available to everyone without specific criteria or restrictions.

“Our initiative is driven by recognising the needs within the Germiston area. Inspired by the teachings of Prophet Mohammed and the enduring legacy of Nelson Mandela, Peermed’s social commitment to our communities is firmly rooted in compassion and selflessness.

“We are driven by a profound belief in the transformative power of helping others,” he added.

“We aim to embody the noble principle of the prophet Mohammed (SAW) that the best amongst you are those that help others.
