Man shot and killed in Elandsfontein shooting

The wife of the deceased was also shot and transported to hospital.

A man was gunned down while he was with his wife in the car, on November 13, at Kennis Street, Elandsfontein.
He was hit by four bullets and was declared dead on the scene.

The wife was rushed to Bertha Gxowa Hospital to receive medical care after being hit by a bullet in the chest.

Police found six cartridges and one projectile at the scene.

A suspect has since been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Bedfordview police spokesperson Sergeant Lillian Modiga said the suspect allegedly opened fire at the couple while they were driving.

It is alleged that before the incident the couple spotted a white Nissan NP200 driving behind them.

In their attempt to lose the driver, the suspect opened fire.

Modiga said the motive for the shooting remains unknown at the moment and that matter is under investigation.
