The Germiston-based female and male soccer teams compete in various Germiston Local Football Association (GLFA) divisional leagues.

With over 34 players the club previously competed in local leagues including the Super League.

Coach Mduduzi Luthuli said the aim is to keep children away from risky social behaviours and involve them in impactful activities like sports.

“Not everyone in the team is going to become a professional soccer player but they can use this opportunity to work towards creating a better life for themselves,” said Mduduzi.

He urged parents to let their children follow their passions, adding that most children get to escape sad realities when they are on the soccer pitch.

“Though we have a bunch of passionate and dedicated players, our biggest challenge is training kits for our boys and girls,” said Mduduzi.

“Transport is a challenge mostly when we have to play away games. We always dip into our pockets and players who can contribute do so and pay for their own transport,” he said.
