Bertha Gxowa celebrates excellence

The awards are to recognise and reward employees who have excelled in their line of work and convey a ‘thank you for the work done.

Bertha Gxowa Hospital hosted service excellence awards recently at the Kobie Muller Hall.

Staff members got chances to dress up as the theme was Hollywood glamour.

The ceremony was all to acknowledge staff members who go beyond the call of duty to service patients.

On the day, the best performing staff members, departments, and the long-serving individuals within the hospital were given awards.

The manager of nursing, Zodwa Mofokeng, said the awards are to show appreciation and to inspire the staff.

“Today, we celebrate and applaud excellence. We are gathered here as the Bertha Gxowa Hospital team to appreciate and recognise those who perform well and to motivate their colleagues to aspire to achieve greatness.

“The awards are meant to recognise and reward employees who have excelled in their line of work and convey a ‘thank you for the work done’. Through this programme we give centre stage to those who have distinguished themselves through dedication and commitment to service delivery,” said Mofokeng.

She added that the awards have a major impact on the hospital’s overall performance as they encourage staff members to perform at their best and engage in continuous self-improvement.

The hospital CEO, Lebohang Khumalo, thanked staff members for their diligence and honoured those who have passed on whilst in service.

“As we recognise our foot soldiers who make sure that our hospital provides exceptional service to the public, may we also take this time to remember our fallen heroes and heroines who died in the line of duty, I believe that they are here with us in spirit,” said Khumalo.
