The YOP programme affords children between the ages of seven and 12, from informal settlements, the opportunity to showcase their skills in the arts discipline while empowering them with the skills via workshops in musical and dance drama, storytelling and painting.

Since the programme’s inception in January, the city has partnered with prominent figures in the industry, like art director Tu Nokwe, a singer, actress, guitarist, composer, author, teacher, lyricist and recording artist.

Such partnership ensures the children get the best out of the programme.

The Saturday workshop concert was about showcasing the talent of the selected children from the previous workshops to display their skills and what they have learnt.
