“I am proud to announce on behalf of the City of Ekurhuleni areas of progress and options to address the serious concerns many of our property owners have regarding finalising the 2021 – 2025 Valuations Property Rolls process.

“The process, which began long before the last local government election, has been fraught. However, for residents yet to reach a satisfactory conclusion to their valuations, we have managed to map out key options to do so.”

He encouraged those who have not yet done so to submit an appeal to the valuation appeals board.
The forms are available on www.ekurhuleni.gov.za

“For further options, a fully documented process is now also available on the City of Ekurhuleni website for the five most likely scenarios facing a property owner.

“Residents are advised to approach registered private valuers or area specialist estate agents if they are unsure of the value of their properties, as many objections received have not been accompanied by proper market evidence.

“I also remind residents that March 3, 2022, is the deadline date for submitting objections.
Gersbach added that the appointment of the valuation appeals board was welcomed.

“I am requesting an opportunity to address the appeals board to see if the process can be fast-tracked and if appeals can be submitted electronically. The City will keep residents and other property owners informed of further developments in this regard,” he said.
