SAPS takes to streets for GBV awareness

The purpose of the campaign was to sensitise the community of Makause about GBV and inform residents how to be part of fight against GBV.

Primrose Police Station hosted an awareness campaign on gender-based violence on November 5 in Makause informal settlement.

The purpose of the campaign was to sensitise the community of Makause about GBV and inform residents how to be part of the fight against such crimes.

“It’s important we host such campaigns because it offers a platform for stakeholders, who offer service that can assist those affected by GBV, to share their ideas and thoughts with the community,” said Primrose SAPS spokesperson Sgt Style Maome.

The event was attended by Ekupholeni representatives, community leaders, members from Ekurhuleni local drug action committee, representatives from church forums and members of the crime prevention youth desk.
