One suspect was apprehended for rape and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm in Primrose.
Primrose SAPS arrested a suspect aged 32 following an incident at Delport informal settlement on October 24.
Sgt Styles Maome, Primrose SAPS communications officer said the complainant alleged that she was walking from
Delport to Marathon informal settlement in the early hours of the morning when she was stopped by an unknown man.

“Without saying anything he assaulted her and pushed her down. He took her clothes off and raped her. The woman was also stabbed. A passer-by later saw her and helped her,” said Maome.
“We urge the community to not make themselves vulnerable by walking alone in secluded areas or dark areas.
They must always be in groups when they walk, especially in informal settlements.
“The suspect was traced and arrested. He was detained at Primrose SAPS and will appear in Germiston Magistrate’ Court soon,” said Maome.
