Ward 42 Clr Musa Nkosi launched a sanitary relief programme on August 27 at the Graceland Education Centre.

On the day, the 105 learners of Graceland received sanitary packages presented to both boys and girls.

The sanitary package included bath soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, roll-on, wash towel and pads.

Learners were also motivated and educated about gender-based violence.

Nkosi said the programme was important because of the situation that many families are faced with during the pandemic.

“We saw this programme as one of the priority programmes because we understand the impact of Covid-19 in people’s homes and lives. The situation is so critical that most families are not employed and it makes it difficult to afford even basic things.”
