Truck driver trapped after truck rolls over

The scene was handed over to EMPD officers for further investigation.

A truck, loaded with chrome material, jack-knifed and then rolled over on the N3 freeway, leaving the driver trapped last night.

According to EMS spokesperson, William Tladi, it is alleged that the driver approached the intersection at high speed, lost control of his articulate and the vehicle rolled over.

“On arrival, the only driver was found trapped. His lower extremities were crashed under the damaged cab of which rescuers had to use specialised hydraulic rescue equipment (Jaws of Life) to free him from the wreckage.

 “He was rescued, received medical treated on the scene before transportation by an ambulance to Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital in Vosloorus.”

The entire intersection of Grey Avenue on the N3 freeway had to be temporarily closed for the duration of the operation.
