CoE warns of job scam involving Germiston medical tests

The City of Ekurhuleni urged the public to be vigilant against a job scam involving medical tests in Germiston.
City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said scam messages are being sent to members of the public through social media platforms, with the sender claiming to be from CoE.
“The scam messages invite the public to a supposed job appointment and medical tests,” said Dlamini.
He said the scam messages follow similar messages inviting the public to take up jobs cleaning Ekurhuleni malls that were affected by recent unrest and looting.

The public is warned not to fall for these scam messages.
“The city reiterates that, as previously communicated, its job application process is not conducted through social media platforms or social media messaging,” emphasised Dlamini.
“Our positions are strictly advertised on our website where permanent, temporal and fixed-term vacancies are advertised.”
