Eden Park stolen cars recovered by flying squad

Germiston Flying Squad nabbed three suspects after recovering two vehicles reported stolen in Eden Park.

Members of Germiston Flying Squad got more than they bargained for after making a arrest on June 20.

Three men were arrested by the members after the recovery of two vehicles reportedly stolen in Eden Park.

Members and a vehicle tracking company, nabbed the suspects who were found inside a green Toyota Tazz along Zone Four, Mandela Park in Katlehong.

According to Const Ntombikayise Ngcobo of Germiston Flying Squad, suspects were found with different sets of Toyota car keys.

“While they were still conducting investigations, they searched a white Nissan Sentra and found it was also stolen in Eden Park and was then seized. The case opened was for possession of stolen motor vehicles. The suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court,” she said.

She told the RECORD the recovered vehicles were taken to Benoni SAPS vehicle storage camp, where further investigations will be conducted.

“Lt Col ME Kgole thanked the members for their dedication and the tracker company for its assistance.”

Kgole also urged the community to stay alert all the time, be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious or criminal activities to their nearest police station or by calling 10111.
