Primrose police, victim-empowerment volunteers and members of the crime-prevention youth desk recently conducted a roadshow around Primrose.

The purpose of the roadshow was to create awareness of Child Protection Week, which was from May 30 to June 6.

“During the roadshow, children were visited at the parks, shopping centres and in the informal settlements. They were taught about crime, their rights and where to report during abuse.

“They were also entertained, given snacks, sweets and toys donated by Chubby Chums,” said Primrose spokesperson Styles Maome.

He said the roadshow was a success because of all the stakeholders that were involved.

“We would like to thank all those who were involved during these roadshows and we hope children around Primrose received the safety tips and will apply them in times of need,” said Maome.
