Power outages in Lambton irk residents

It’s a constant problem in the Lambton area.

Editor – From the beginning of January until March 24 every week there was a power outage.

It seems no one wants to do anything about this issue, yet we must still pay our rates and taxes. Other areas like Primrose, Alberton and Bedfordview don’t experience this problem as badly as we do. It’s a constant problem in the Lambton area.

I already invested R15 000 in generators and inverters. There are over 100 ward councillors in Ekurhuleni but it seems they just go to the office for a salary not doing what they must do. They only leave comments.

Parks and cemeteries have also still not been maintained.

Editor’s comment – City of Ekurhuleni commented as follows:

“There have been challenges and electrical faults with electricity substations that feed Lambton and surrounding areas. The restoration has been limited to avoid lengthy outages. Overloading on the network is a concern.”
