Reduce your electricity usage to reduce the chances of loadshedding
Dlamini urged residents to continuously use electricity sparingly to help reduce risk of loadshedding.
The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) released a statement informing residents about constrained electricity supply, which is at constant risk of loadshedding until September as communicated by Eskom recently.
CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said the City will therefore apply loadshedding in accordance with the available supply from the electricity provider.
“Customers are requested to follow the loadshedding schedule available on the City’s website.”
Furthermore, to help mitigate the impact of the strain on the power grid, customers are advised to apply the following energy-saving tips.
• Turn off unnecessary lights.
• Use natural light.
• Take shorter showers.
• Turn water off when shaving, washing hands or brushing hands.
• Unplug unused electronics.
• Switch off outside lights during the day.
