The family share the below in honour of Joseph:

“As your ashes were taken by the wind I felt the day you went home again
Never wanted to let your hand go. Just wanted you to open your eyes
For one last time
With sorrow in our hearts
We take you along the route you ran 14 times
Leaving you behind us in parts
The comrade’s route looks impossible
But you conquered it with pride
Your world was sometimes painful
But you lived strong and took it in your stride
I can’t express how much I miss you
Now that you’re set free
I never wanted you to leave this world
But understand this was bigger than me.”
