Support Cupcakes of Hope initiative

“There isn't one family that hasn't been affected in some way by someone with cancer. If we can help just one family or one child, then that's a job well done.”

The TenderHeart Foundation is at it again doing some good deeds.

The NPO founded by three sisters, Coral Bowler, Mandy Whitehead and Lornette Joseph, along with their friend Wendy McNally, will assist with #BakeADifference run by Cupcakes of Hope for children with cancer.

Lornette said they are responding to a social media post calling on bakers to make cupcakes for a good cause.

“We were brought up to share and give because it’s in the giving that you will receive. When I saw the post I knew as TenderHearts we would like to do this. We will be assisting in raising funds to assist children who have been diagnosed with cancer,” said Lornette.

The foundation enlisted good friends of the TenderHeart Foundation, Simply Majestic and Pick n Pay to bake.

“We will sell them. They were so excited to help and we are grateful to them for making their amazing baking skills available to us,” said Lornette.

Simply Majestic will be selling tea or coffee and a cupcake for R49 each with the majority of the proceeds going towards Cupcakes of Hope.

This cupcake offer will run until October 3.

“We are proud to be part of this undertaking with TenderHeart Foundation as it is for a good cause,” said owner of Simply Majestic Richard Eltringham.

Lornette said they will be having a stall at the Majestic’s market and invited the community to pop in at the stall for cupcakes.

The sisters have also joined up with Pick n Pay Lambton and Hazelpark, which will be baking 200 cupcakes for them to sell.

“We ask the community to please support us. The cupcakes will be sold at R25 each and we really hope to be sold out very quickly,” said Lornette.

“There isn’t one family that hasn’t been affected in some way by someone with cancer. If we can help just one family or one child, then that’s a job well done,” said Lornette.

For those who would like to support the cause, Simply Majestic can be found on the corner of Webber and Cachet roads, Lambton.

TenderHearts is known for their annual Christmas Cracker Project which brings some Christmas Cheer to the elderly.

While The Christmas Cracker Project is their pride and joy; there is always a need to assist where they can.
