Man allegedly stabbed to death with broken bottle, girlfriend arrested

Primrose police arrested a 45-year-old woman on a charge of murder.

The Primrose police arrested a 45-year-old woman on a charge of murder last Sunday.

The arrest was made after the suspect, herself, reported the murder to the police.

“The suspect told officers she had found her boyfriend murdered,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“She took police to their Marathon informal settlement shack where they found the body of a 40-year-old man and a broken bloodstained glass bottle.

“Paramedics were summoned to the scene, and they declared the man dead.”

During questioning, the suspect allegedly told police she and the deceased had fought and she had decided to sleep on the couch.

“When she woke up she claimed she found him lying on the floor,” said Maome.

“She was arrested on a charge of murder.”

The suspect will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
