Police send warning to delivery vehicle drivers

The Germiston SAPS sends warning to delivery vehicle drivers delivering goods in Dinwiddie and Lambton.

The Germiston SAPS has noticed a worrying trend in Dinwiddie and Lambton.

“It is alleged that suspects are targeting delivery vehicles in the area,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS.

“The suspects reportedly hijack the vehicles, using firearms, then take the vehicle and driver a short distance from the hijacking scene and empty out the vehicle.

“They then release the driver and return the vehicle.”

The SAPS warns the community and drivers to be aware of this trend and be aware of their surroundings at all times.

“We will continue to monitor this latest crime trend,” said Mabunda.
