Thirteen arrested in Katlehong police operations

Katlehong police share their arrest statistics.

Thirteen suspects were arrested in Katlehong last Tuesday.

Officers from the Katlehong SAPS’s Crime Prevention Unit, detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD made the arrests.

The operations included stop-and-searches and intense lockdown patrols.

The suspects were arrested for various offences.

Charges included:

• Possession of burglary implements: 4

• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 3

• Armed robbery: 3

• Malicious damage to property: 1

• Theft: 1

• Shoplifting: 1

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS acting station commander Col Phakama Gcaza thanked everyone who contributed to the arrests.
She once again requested the community to adhere to the rules and regulations of Level 4 lockdown.
