EMPD DEU members pounce on two alleged drug dealers

Crime prevention operation yields results.

The EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted a crime prevention operation in the Katlehong and Tokoza areas last Sunday.

The operation, which took place between 10am and 1pm, yielded two alleged drug dealers.

The first arrest took place at 10.02am in Dikole section in Katlehong.

“A 24-year-old man was found in possession of 14 packets of nyaope, valued at R1 500, as well as R280 in cash.

“He was marched to the Katlehong Police Station,” said Kobeli Mokheseng, spokesperson for the EMPD.

The second arrest took place in Tokoza Extension Five at 12.45pm.

A 37-year-old man was arrested after he was found in possession of 18 ziplock bags and one glass jar of loose dagga, valued at R600 and R20 in cash.

He was taken to the Tokoza Police Station.

Both detained suspects were charged with possession of and dealing in illicit substances.
