Watch: Three medals for young SAaerialnastix star
Abigail Griezel is growing from strength to strength in SAaerialnastix.
It was an experience to remember as young SAaerialnastix talent and Albemarle resident Abigail Griezel recently jetted off to Mauritius to compete in the SA Tumbling and Trampoline Cup.
Once Griezel arrived, the SA team had a day to train before competing.
The day of the competition dawned bright and hot with temperatures about 30 degrees Celsius.
There were approximately 200 competitors of all ages and levels competing in the event.
Griezel excelled in the competition, bringing home two silver medals for trampoline and bench and one gold medal for floor.
While there, the family also got the opportunity to take a boat trip to a nearby island, Île aux Cerfs, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
“Overall, it was an exciting experience, especially given that it was Abigail’s first trip in an airplane,” said her mother, Melissa.
“This year, we’re looking forward to all the competitions and Abigail is already training hard.”
