A 30-year-old man was arrested by the Germiston police in Knox Street, last Tuesday.
The suspect was arrested on a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon.
“Police spotted the man in Knox Street during a crime prevention patrol in the area,” explained Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS.

“They searched the suspect and found a bush knife and axe in his possession.
“The man claimed he carried the weapons only for self-defense.”
He was arrested and taken the Germiston Police Station pending his appearance in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.
