Police nab alleged house robber

Primrose police apprehend alleged house robber, in connection with Makause informal settlement house break-in and theft.

The Primrose police recently arrested a 22-year-old man on a charge of house break-in and theft.

The alleged incident took place in the Makause informal settlement and was reported to police by the home’s owner.

“The complainant alleged that he left his shack at dusk to go to work, as he was working night shift,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When he returned the following morning he discovered that his shack had been broken into.

“Upon inspection he discovered that two solar machines, a sound system and an amplifier had been taken.”

The estimated value of the stolen goods was R5 000.

Following a short investigation officers were able to arrest the suspect and he was taken to the Primrose Police Station.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
