Alert: Morning traffic delay on N12 West highway

Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) advises motorists to add time to their morning commute as a truck has jackknifed at the Gillooly's Interchange.

Motorists travelling on the N12 west have been advised to add some extra time to their commute this morning (Thursday, January 16), as a truck has jackknifed at the Gillooly’s Interchange.

The truck is obstructing the R24 west on-ramp and the fly-over from the N12 to the N3 north.

“The truck was carrying crates of beer,” explained William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS)

“The incident reportedly happened at around 6.22am.

“The driver, who was alone in the truck, was hospitalised in a serious by stable condition.

“He was transported by ambulance to Bertha Gxowa Hospital.”
