Officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and EMPD, started the new year with several weekend operations.
The operations, held between January 3 and 5, led to the arrest of 18 suspects.
The suspects were charged with several different offences.

Charges included:
• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 3
• Malicious damage to property: 2
• Possession of suspected stolen property: 2
• Dealing in drugs: 2
• Theft: 1
• Shoplifting: 1
• Possession of drugs: 1
• Common assault 1
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 5.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
