Germiston police arrest 72 suspects

The Germiston police share their latest arrest statistics.

The Germiston SAPS has been hard at work combating crime in their policing area.

Officers arrested 72 suspects between November 27 and December 2.

The following arrests were made:

• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 1

• Possession of suspected drugs: 4

• Common assault: 3

• Assault GBH: 8

• Malicious damage to property: 2

• Shoplifting: 5

• Possession of an unlicensed firearm: 1

•Possession of a hijacked vehicle: 1

• Theft: 5

• Reckless and negligent driving: 2

• Fraud: 8

• Illegal dealing in liquor: 1

• Tampering with essential services: 1

• Kidnapping: 1

• Common robbery: 2

The suspects were all due to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.

“This festive season, we will work tirelessly to make sure that our community is safe,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS.
