Alleged drug dealer arrested in Katlehong

A 24-year-old man was arrested by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit last Sunday.

While out patrolling in Katlehong, last Sunday, members of the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit noticed a suspicious-looking man.

They approached the 24-year-old man, who was loitering in Nyanga Street, and searched him.

The search allegedly revealed two ziplock bags of dagga, 53 knotted paper wrapped parcels of Kat valued at R4 000 on the streets and R110 in cash believed to be the proceeds of illicit narcotics trading.

He was arrested and transported to the Katlehong Police Station.

The arrested suspect was charged with possession of and dealing in illicit substances and is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
