Germiston police work hard to rid the area of crime

The Germiston SAPS has released their latest arrest statistics.

The Germiston SAPS has been hard at work arresting criminals in their policing area.

They made 61 arrests between November 14 and November 18.

Arrests were made on the following charges:

• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 35

• Possession of suspected drugs: 2

• Common assault: 2

• Assault GBH: 1

• Malicious damage to property: 1

• Shoplifting: 4

• Illegal gambling: 3

• Possession of a dangerous weapon: 1

• Theft: 3

• Reckless and negligent driving: 4

• Fraud: 1

• Illegal dealing in liquor: 3

• Tampering with essential services: 1

The suspects were all due to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court during the week.

“This festive season we will work tirelessly to make sure that our community is safe,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston SAPS.
