Help Rest-a-While make Christmas a little brighter for the elderly in need

Help Rest-a-While put together Christmas food hampers.

The festive season is around the corner and Rest-a-While Service Centre for the Elderly has begun to prepare for the silly season.

The centre recently launched their Christmas food drive campaign.

They are urging the community to get involved and to help them collect food and other items to make up parcels for those in need.

“Please help us collect non-perishable groceries, tinned food, coffee, tea, powdered milk and toiletries for both men and women so we can make Christmas hampers for our needy elderly.

“This is especially important as the centre will be closed for a few days during the festive season and we need to ensure no one is left hungry or without the necessities.

“Let’s all open our hearts and share the gift of giving,” said the centre’s manager, Trudy Carreira.

Donations can be dropped off at Rest-a-While’s offices, on the corner of Churchill Avenue and Shamrock Road, Primrose, between 8am and 1pm (Monday to Friday) and arrangements can be made for collection of donations that cannot be dropped off.
