Several Germiston High School learners were selected to represent Gauteng in the ATKV-Spellathon, recently.
They were Saschia Mutongoza, Ofentse Malope, Sinalo Thomas, Tshepang Raseobi and Nuha Alli.

While all the learners placed in the top 10, it was Saschia, who had placed third in the provincial stages, who went on to represent the province and school at the national event, which was held on October 19.
Saschia, who competed in the Afrikaans first language category, placed seventh at the Stellenbosch Spellathon.

To recognise and reward her efforts, Saschia received her full colours at school during a special assembly on Wednesday.
