EMPD officers pounce on alleged drug dealers in Katlehong

EMPD officers nabbed two men for alleged drug dealing in Katlehong.

Patrols by EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) members last Monday in the south of Katlehong yielded results.

Two alleged drug dealers were nabbed in possession of Kat worth R1 200 on the streets. Both arrests took place at about 9.30am.

“The discerning eye of the passing metro police officers spotted the alleged drug dealers by their suspicious actions,” said Kobeli Mokheseng, spokesperson for the EMPD.

The shack in the south of Katlehong where EMPD officers spotted the two alleged drug dealers last Monday.

“A 22-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were standing next to a shack on Ntanga Street.

“They were approached and searched and officers allegedly discovered five ziplock bags of Kat packed inside two sunglasses cases, as well as R580 in cash.”

Both suspects were booked at the Ramakonopi Police Station on charges of possession of and dealing in illicit substances.

They are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
