Katlehong North SAPS target criminals in their precinct

Katlehong North police arrested 19 suspects in several weekend operations.

In a continued effort to curb crime in their precinct the Katlehong North police held several operations last weekend.

The operations, held between September 27 and 29, led to the arrest of 19 suspects.

The accused were arrested for various offences.

Charges included theft, arson, malicious damage to property, reckless and negligent driving, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, possession of drugs, rape, driving under the influence of alcohol and dealing in liquor without a licence.

Two illegal taverns were also closed during the operations.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
