While many community members were celebrating Heritage Day, officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit were hard at work.
The team held a crime prevention stop-and-search operation, which lead to the arrest of nine suspects.

The accused were charged with various offences.
Charges included attempted murder, arson, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common robbery, theft and shoplifting.
All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Col Sammy Thambo was pleased with the arrests made and encouraged the community to get involved in the fight against crime.
