Primrose police nab eight for possession of suspected stolen property

Eight suspects were apprehended by the Primrose police on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

Eight suspects, aged between 21 and 43 years old, were recently arrested by the Primrose police on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

The arrests were made while officers were on patrol in Johan Rissik Road.

“While on patrol police noticed a suspicious white mini bus with several occupants,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“They stopped the vehicle with the intent to search it.

“The driver tried to run away but was quickly cornered.”

During a search of the vehicle, police found groceries, a freezer and clothing to the value of R10 000.

“None of the vehicle’s six occupants or its driver were able to give police any proof of purchase and they were arrested,” said Maome.

“The eighth suspect was arrested shortly after.”

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where their case was postponed for plea and trial.
