Mr and Miss Heavenly Flowers crowns its kings and queens

Annual Mr and Miss Heavenly Flowers pageant adds cuteness to Ahgie-fest.

The annual Mr and Miss Heavenly Flowers pageant took place at the Ahgie-festival hosted by Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston last Saturday.

The pageant, with a host of new sponsors, saw children from as young as one year old to 12 years old strutting their stuff on the runway in the hope of being crowned Mr or Miss Heavenly Flowers for the year.

Ultimately, the contestant with the best catwalk and personality pleased the judges and the winners were announced.

The top three winners in the tight Mr and Miss Heavenly Flowers pageant (category for contestants between seven and 12 years old) were Lehlohonolo Twala (Miss Heavenly Flowers), Megan Forrester (first princess) and Nyakallo Twala (second princess).

In the category for children aged between one and three years old, Jaren Potgieter was announced as the second prince, Ethan Kruger was the first prince and Ofentse Nhlopo was crowned Mr Heavenly Flowers.

In the girls’ category, in the same age group, Kenzie-Leigh Pretorius was crowned Miss Heavenly Flowers, the first princess was Aliya Cooper and the second princess was Kayleigh de Beer.

In the category for girls between the ages of four and six years old, Boikano Thoka was crowned Miss Heavenly Flowers, Clarissa Stigling was the first princess and Alayla Jacobs the second princess.

In the boys’ category, Ethan Venter-Eckhout impressed the judges with his charm and subsequently took the Mr Heavenly Flowers title, his first prince was Kelton Kuntz and JP Odendaal was the second prince.

The final crowning ceremony featured contestants aged between seven and 12 years old.

Zack Bezuidenhout took home the coveted title of Mr Heavenly Flowers in the category for learners aged between seven and 12 years old at Afrikaanse Hoërskool Germiston’s Ahgie-festival last Saturday.

Nyakallo Twala was announced as the second princess, followed by the first princess, Megan Forrester, and Lehlohonolo Twala was crowned Miss Heavenly Flowers.

Tristin Cooper took home the title of second prince, Justice Ramaala stood beside him as first prince and Zack Bezuidenhout was crowned Mr Heavenly Flowers.

Triston Foye received a Most Courageous Award for overcoming his stage fright.

The pageant organiser from the school, Nicky Joseph, thanked their sponsors, Westpack The Reef, CMR Electrical, Vogue Catwalk, Figures Alberton, Mike’s Kitchen Lambton, Sunpack and Craig Hair, for sponsoring the variety of prizes which were up for grabs on the day.
