Busy weekend for Katlehong police

Katlehong SAPS shares their latest weekend arrest statistics.

Through a series of weekend operations, 14 suspects were arrested in the Katlehong area.

The operations, held between July 12 and 14, were carried out by officers from the Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of detectives from the Katlehong Police Station and members of the EMPD.

The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, domestic violence, arson, malicious damage to property, possession of drugs and driving under the influence of alcohol.

EMPD members also issued a number of fines to motorists during several roadblocks in the area.

All of the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for a number of different reasons.

The Katlehong police will continue to hold similar operations in the area to increase their visibility.
