Don’t fall victim to latest scam warn police

Katlehong North police send a warning to the community.

Katlehong North police are not only dealing with an increase in the number of cases of vehicle thefts being reported, but also reports of a new scam.

According to information received, perpetrators contact the vehicle theft victims after they have reported the crime to the police and pretend to be officers.

They allegedly claim they are investigating the case and are able to help the victim for a fee of between R2 000 and R3 000.

The community are warned not to fall for this scam and are reminded that police will never ask for money to investigate a crime.
