Emergency personnel from various services rushed to the scene of a shooting in Klippoortjie Park at 4.49pm on Saturday.
William Ntladi, district manager media liaison for Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Services told the GCN that when paramedics and law enforcement units arrived on scene, two adults, a male and a female, were found lying motionless on the floor inside a local supermarket.

“Information on site suggests that a robbery took place and the suspects shot randomly, instantly killing the two adults alleged to be shoppers,” said Ntladi.
Shawn Herbst, media liaison officer for Netcare Limited said, “Reports from the scene indicated that at least 11 suspects robbed the store.
“Upon assessment of the scene the adult male and the adult female were tragically declared dead on the scene.”
The scene was handed over to the police for further investigation.
