Men found with allegedly stolen property at Constantia Hotel

Primrose police arrest three suspects on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

Three men, aged between 22 and 54 years old, were arrested by the Primrose police, last Sunday, on a charge of possession of suspected stolen property.

Officers made the arrest after receiving a complaint which alleged that the men were in possession of stolen property at the Constantia Hotel.

“Upon arrival the complainant showed officers the men who had a black bag in their possession,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“In the bag officers found a camera, black laptop, two gas bottles and tools all to the value of R12 000.”

When questioned the suspects could not give a clear explanation as to where the items came from.

“It was later discovered that the camera had been stolen from a home in Association Road in Dawnview,” said Maome.

The men were arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station.

They later appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where their case was postponed for plea and trial.
