Victoria Lake Canoe Club will once again host the Bearing Vision Flat Race ahead of the Gauteng Canoe Union’s (GCU) Marathon Championships and the South African Marathon Championships.

It is time again for Victoria Lake Canoe Club’s Bearing Vision Flat Race.

The newly revised race, which will take place at Germiston Lake this Sunday, is based on a marathon format and is aimed at offering racers the ideal opportunity to finalise their preparation for the Gauteng Canoe Union’s (GCU) Marathon Championships and the South African Marathon Championships.

The 18km paddle (shortened from 20km to ensure a good tester without too much lactic acid build-up ahead of the GCU championships, which will take place next weekend) will incorporate four short portages.

Registration will begin at 7am with paddlers splashing into the water at 8am.

Online entries (https://www.gcu.co.za/race/online-race-entry-form/) close at midnight on Wednesday.
