Special mom and daughter treats at baby home

Mother and daughter spoils at El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety.

In the hope of raising much-needed funds for their home, El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety, hosted a mother and daughter Pamper Day, last Saturday, ahead of Mother’s Day.

Women from as far as the West Rand showed their support for the home and left feeling relaxed and looking glamorous.

Elna Latchman was in the capable hands of Carey Stuart at El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety’s Pamper Day for mothers and daughters last Saturday.

“We had a great turnout and it was reassuring to hear our guests’ urging us to make this event a regular event as they had so much fun,” said Merencia Scholtz, a manager at El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety.

Friends, Hope Munodawafa and Felicia Ndudula, took a Saturday morning trip to get pampered at El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety.

“We had a lot of in-house support from our board members, as well as community members who volunteered their time such as Cleorisha McNeil who is a qualified nail technician and Faith Phiri from our local church.”

Guests were treated to shiatsu massages, manicures and pedicures.

Merencia Scholtz (a manager of El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety) and Crystal Naidoo, the brain behind El-Shammah Home for Abandoned Babies and Place of Safety’s Pamper Day.

“I hope the success of this event sets a precedent for the upcoming golf day we’ll be hosting at Reading Golf Course in Alberton on May 30.”

“Karlien van Jaarsveld will join us on the day and we encourage everyone to get their tickets as soon as possible for a fun day out,” Merencia said.
