Public invited to nominate their favourite kwaito and house music stars

Carnival City to host MKHMA awards.

The Mzansi Kwaito and House Music Awards (MKHMA) prides itself on unearthing and grooming upcoming musical talent which will contribute to the success and sustainability of the kwaito and house genres in South Africa.

The annual awards ceremony will be taking taken place on November 30 at the Big Top Arena at Carnival City.

The awards were previously hosted successfully in Soweto but have had to move to accommodate their growing audience who enjoy experiencing the nostalgia brought on by MKHMA.

The founder and CEO of MKHMA, Perfecta Khumalo, encouraged all artists to send in their entry forms as this is an opportunity they should not miss out on.

“I encourage all artists to send their entry forms in.

“Please read the rules and regulations before you fill in an entry form.

“I am excited as this year we have a second runner-up prize for the upcoming kwaito and house artists,” she said.

“The Lifetime Achievement Award, which was won by Victor “Doc Shebeleza” Bogopane in 2018, will be awarded to one of our music legends on the night of the awards.

“The coveted award is presented to an individual who has contributed immensely to the development and growth of South African music not only locally, but also to the international market.”
