Man arrested for business break-in

Man allegedly breaks into local shop through roof.

While on patrol in Moleleki Extension in Katlehong last Monday, officers from the Katlehong Police Station received reports of a business burglary in progress.

Police rushed to the scene.

“Officers could allegedly hear noises from inside the shop,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, spokesperson for the Katlehong police.

The store’s manager, who met the police at the shop, opened the store and officers began to search the premises.

“They found a man hiding inside a storeroom.

“It is believed the man gained entry to the store through the roof.

“He was allegedly found with a bag full of biscuits and pies,” said Ndobe.

He was arrested on a charge of business burglary.

Katlehong SAPS station commander Brig Sammy Thambo thanked the officers for their speedy response.

The accused is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
