Relentless athletes blitz into action in season finale race

Hundreds of athletes headed to Germiston Lake recently to partake in the season finale of the Trinity Sports Triathlon and Duathlon race for 2018/2019.

Due to alleged contamination in the water at Germiston Lake, the previous Trinity Sports Triathlon and Duathlon did not include any swimming races.

However, in the third and final race of the 2018/2019 season, incorporating the Central Gauteng Triathlon, held recently, the water had a favourable temperature of 19ºC and no reported contamination.

This saw all athletes participating in the standard triathlon and sprint triathlon bring out their wetsuits for a boisterous final race.

Athletes, between the ages of 12 to 15, took part in the mini-duathlon, which comprised a 2.5km run, 10km bike and 1.5km run.
