Man allegedly assaults wife in Makause

Primrose police apprehend man on a charge of domestic violence in Primrose.

A Makause informal settlement woman opened a case of domestic violence against her husband recently following an alleged assault.

“The victim claimed the accused went out for the evening to a local tavern, while she stayed home,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When he came back he allegedly began shouting at her and then allegedly assaulted her, all without provocation.”

The woman managed to escape and immediately reported the matter to the Primrose police.

Using the information given by the victim, officers were able to trace and arrest the suspect on a charge of domestic violence.

He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
