Locals score big on good reads at Avril Elizabeth Home’s book sale

Patrons added new reads to their book collections and helped a local home raise much-needed funds in the process.

Selling for as little as R5, books were flying off the shelves at Avril Elizabeth Home’s book sale last Saturday.

Rika Botha and her husband, Pieter, shopped for children’s books at Avril Elizabeth Home’s book sale last Saturday to surprise their three-year-old grandchild.

Locals woke early to browse through crates filled with books at the home in the hope of finding classic novels and new reads and simultaneously helping the home raise much-needed funds.

If you missed the book sale, don’t fret, Teddy Book Shop situated at the home, is open Monday to Friday, from 8am until 4pm.
