Update: Suspect arrested for allegedly shooting fellow Galway Gardens resident

Germiston SAPS arrested 59-year-old suspect for allegedly shooting and killing man at Galway Gardens in Germiston South.

A 59-year-old man was arrested by the Germiston SAPS following a fatal shooting at Galway Gardens, in Germiston South, today (Monday).

Police confirmed a case of murder had been opened following the death of a 45-year-old man, who was found with 10 bullet wounds to the upper body.

Police were reportedly called to the scene by the alleged murderer.

“The accused allegedly opened fire on the victim, who was also a resident of Galway Gardens, shooting him 10 times before he called the police at around 11.20am,” said Const Maxwell Mabunda, communications officer for the Germiston police.

He was arrested and taken to the Germiston Police Station.

Police are still investigating the crime.
