“The action started early with all the participants going through their medical checks and weigh-ins,” said head coach Dewald de Wet.

“The quality of the wrestlers competing was amazing, with many matches going down to the wire.”

The club walked away with an impressive tally of medals, including 10 gold medals, one silver medal and three bronze medals.

“Some of the noteworthy achievements for the club were a bronze medal win by Dewald de Wet in a division with a number of SA champions and SA medallists, a silver medal win for Daniella de Wet in the boys’ division and a gold medal in the girls’ division, a very hard-fought fourth place for Shannon Jansen van Rensburg in the boys’ division and a gold in the girls’ division and Tanique Jansen van Rensburg’s gold medal win in which she didn’t concede a single point,” said de Wet.
