Music, dance and fun at Germiston Theatre

The Ingoma Music and Dance theatre production is set to thrill the audience.

The metro, in partnership with iAfrika Theatre Education, will set the Germiston Theatre stage alight during the annual Ingoma Music and Dance theatre production, on March 9.

Art lovers will be treated to electrifying scenes of traditional dance, gumboot dance, pantsula, and modern dance throughout the two-hour long musical show.

Well-known guru in the arts industry Siphiwe Nkosi of favourite telenovela Isibaya will be the narrator of this theatre production.

The Ingoma Music and Dance theatre production is written and directed by John Lata, an art industry great armed with more than 35 years of experience in the entertainment industry and who wears many caps as an actor, writer, director, producer and composer.

Forming part of the cast on the day will be the commissioned group, Mazibuyel’ Emasisweni, also known as Taxido, which over the years has won international awards.

Five art groups from across the metro, having excelled during the Ekurhuleni-wide auditions were selected to form part of the musical production.

Besides earning a spot in the cast, each group received R20 000.

The production starts at 4pm at the theatre in President Street in the Germiston CBD.

An entrance fee will be charged.
